Question:
Why wood? |
| Answer:
Not only wood, this particular wood has been chosen because of its softness. They are normally used for making baby beds. I would like to make a reference to Ernest Friedrich’s publication War against War!. The beginning of the book shows pictures of toy soldiers, toy cannons, and other cute war toys favoured by boys. It then progresses with increasingly unbearable images of ruins, ravaged forests, hanged conscientious objectors, and sights of devastation brought by war. It concludes with pictures taken in a military cemetery. I was completely shaken by the development of the book: the evolution of boy/toy/weapon/cruelty/military grave. |
